Here are some steps you may have to take in order to start your business in the state of New York.

Getting started– The state of New York has a website about starting a business here:  https://www.businessexpress.ny.gov/

1. Select your business structure.

Sole-proprietor, LLC, Partnership, Corporation, etc.

2. Register your business name with New York.

3.  Register your business with New York.

4. Open a Separate Business Checking Account.

You will need to open a bank account for your business with your new business name.

5. Find out about taxes and hire an accountant.

6. Liability Insurance.

You may want liability insurance depending on what type of business you will be starting.

7. City License.
